"Stranger...about "Whistle-ass""

What do you think of promoting an action where those who protest Bush at his campaign stops, blow whistles?

close at hand. You can't keep the sound of a whistle in a "First Amendment" zone.

Really, that's a fantastic idea. Can't be seen from the zones, but can certainly be heard. And even if the joke is lost, the noise wouldn't be. Plus, it's extra disruptive.

...but an Air Horn is a WONDERFULLY loud device. I estimate that if 100 people were to use air horns at the same time there would be enough energy to have the noise heard 5 miles away. If we do this, remember the foam earplugs.

Another thing that would be great is one of those hand-cranked air raid sirens you seen in old war films...

Enough people know about this that if the whistles start emanating from the 'free speech zones', the news orgs will start explaining why. Newspapers first, of course. TV will follow if enough papers report it.

"She'd always watch CNN, C-SPAN, and you know, she'd just swear at the TV and say 'Oh, Bush, he's such a whistle ass!' She'd just get so mad,"

http://www.madison.com/captimes/news/stories/55234.php

When Sally Baron's family wrote her obituary, they described a northern Wisconsin woman who raised six children and took care of her husband.

She had moved to Stoughton seven years ago to be closer to her children and was 71 when she died Monday after struggling to recuperate from heart surgery. Her family had come to the question of what might be a fitting tribute to her.

"My uncle asked if there was a cause," her youngest son, Pete Baron, said.

Almost in unison, what her children decided to include in the obituary was this: "Memorials in her honor can be made to any organization working for the removal of President Bush."

"She thought he was a liar," Baron's daughter, Maureen Bettilyon, said. "I think his personality, just standing there with that smirk on his face, and acting like he's this holy Christian, that's what really got her."

Bettilyon, who lives in Stoughton, said her mother didn't trifle with petty neighborhood squabbles but was attuned to significant policy-making at all levels.

"She'd always watch CNN, C-SPAN, and you know, she'd just swear at the TV and say 'Oh, Bush, he's such a whistle ass!' She'd just get so mad," Bettilyon said.

Isn't the Bush administration's worst fear the emergence of "whistle-blowers"? Maybe this action should be used to encourage more of them to come forward. If people start asking, we'd need a better explanation then simply "a pejorative from some woman's obituary."

Just a thought.

In Milwaukee, police ticketted cars for honking in support of our anti-war demonstrations.

I imagine whistle blowing will be clamped down as being as being a nuisance or disorderly conduct.

One thing's for sure, based on my personal experience from ongoing anti-war protests, the police are getting very aggressive with protestors. It's coming from the top nationally down to local communities.

P.S. The perspective the police are getting is that the protests are being organized by some national subversive group. Thus the police are jingoed up to be in war mode. They can't imagine why anybody would want to protest NY megaphone hero George.

of the protests. Had a good chat with him and his wife. But the police are getting jingoed up as I've asserted. They are on edge and appear ready to pounce.

Americans, there's something wrong when your president's a nitwit, doncha think?...or doncha think?
