"Trump pardons Arpaio."

Didn't know he had done that till I checked the news.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/trump-pardons-former-arizona-sheriff-joe-arpaio/2017/08/25/afbff4b6-86b1-11e7-961d-2f373b3977ee_story.html

Apparently, he already knows his response to the hurricane will be lacking, so he's going to take that off the front page.

Or perhaps it's due to the emails that were found this week, showing stronger ties to Russia in his campaign.

Either way, it's a distraction, meaningless in any real sense.

Wheels within wheels.

The law and order party has just stepped outside the law big-time. You can respect the rule of law or pardon Joe Arpaio, but not both. The republican pretension that they have such a religious revererance for the rule of law has now been exposed as having all reverance as a preacher having sex with a goat.

I don't think Trump is stupid enough to do another Bush/Katrina. I don't think he wants to actually do destructive things. Like starting a needless war that costs thousands of lives. But I do think he is looking to piss us off. Not just liberals but all of America.

He's like the sheriff in those Sloppy South movies of the seventies and eighties. You know, 'Macon County Line', 'Prizzern County Prison', 'Shotgun County N1##as', 'County County County.' "The law is what I say it is. I'm the law here. I'm the sheriff of County County and I can kill anybody I want to."

Reynolds. And the part where the corrupt sheriff played by Ned Beatty confidently steps down on his accelerator and goes sailing over Burt Reynolds head and right into the river. Blub...blub...and his little pork pie hat comes floating up.

Who knew Ned Beatty could be such a convincing bad guy?? Right up there with Darth Vader.
