"Health"

Have no idea how the latest obamacare repeal and replace will go, but apparently the previous versions weren't bad enough and the repug holdouts were waiting for a worse version. Now the latest apparently meets that test as more people would lose their insurance.

stumbling blocks though, in that agreement between Trump, Pelosi and Schumer. I think it's a big heads up to the American people along with a delay. If the democrats can keep staving off the republicans until the 2018 elections, that might be just enough of a game plan to keep republicans contained.

Jimmy Kimmel has put a very human face on this and blown the whistle on the massive bullshit that won't pass any smell test.

All those middle class trump voters will have to take care of their old folks if this bill passes. At some point there would be no money for medicaid.

From what I have read about the bill parts of it don't kick in until after elections next year and 2020 and the total mess may be after a couple of elections. By that time some of the older repugs will be dead and won't have to live with the consequences.

I hope she holds firm on her no from last time. John McCain has already said no. If some of the republicans voted yes when they know there are enough no votes to fail, I could easily forgive that. Never be surprised at a politician playing politics, especially when their vote would be inconsequential.

Here's the thing, if it did pass (very unlikely, IMHO) then it's nearly 100% certain that at least California and probably New York would implement "Berniecare" with the block grants.

Taking those huge populations off the insurance rolls would mean taking the populations of two relatively healthy states from the US "group". Insurance costs in all other states would rise, thus making "Berniecare" more attractive in those states. Other blue states would follow suit.

Business/Industry would be streaming towards those blue states, because the costs for their medical expenses would be much lower, and thus increasing profits.

Which is why the insurance industry and the entire medical industry are out in force against this bill, and wasn't out in such force against the others. They see this as the END for them.

And that's why it won't pass.

Even though plenty of people are dying from inadequate health care already.

Medical insurance should have never been tied to people's jobs. It was supposed to be a temporary measure going all the way back to WWII(wage and price freeze alternative leverage). It has metastasized into our current health insurance nightmare.
