"Oprah"

What do you think of Oprah for president? I am reading all kinds of comments pro and con after her speech on that awards program. Looking back in history it is some speech that launched someone into the lime light. I have mixed feelings, but the politicians in the governors offices across the country and the congress don't seem to be offering much national leadership.

I've had enough of celebrity politicians. Even though most of em are of a republican stripe. We still offer a deeper bench than republicans.

Have gone off the rails, about Oprah.. Suddenly they don't find actors appealing. Oh maybe because she is an actress.

Hillary was the most qualified human to ever run for President. And look what WE allowed the Russians to do to her. Even the Dems jumped on the anti-Hillary bandwagon.

I wonder, what the Putin crew (er money launderers) are so afraid of, when it comes to Clinton style of governing?

He got it into his head that Hillary was out to get him. That was back when Arab countries were throwing out their leaders like yesterday's dishwater. She said some fairly innocuous remarks about Russian elections that got under his skin.

If the Democratic Party would be stupid enough to nominate her, she would lose 49 states.

Which is exactly why voting in a primary is IMPORTANT.

They have pros and cons, like everything in politics.

Somebody that came up from a regular middle class family has a view that most of the politicians simply do not have. Ever stop to think how many of our politicians have never done any work outside a law office or temporary work during college?

And the country is very sour on career politicians at the moment, fresh blood is very popular.

They can often be fooled by skilled politicians and liars into thinking what some rich ass wants is best for the country.

And they often have difficulty developing the skills needed to guide a nation, especially in foreign affairs.

You could spend all day filling out those pro and con boxes.

And most recently Cory Booker. Maybe Oprah did give an inspiring speech to the clamoring masses at the Golden Globes. Jesus had his Miracle of the Loaves. Maybe Oprah had a Miracle of the Martinis.

Being a good speaker is not an everyday quality. The best speaking voices at it were Winston Churchill and Barbara Jordan. Among others who I'm sure I'm overlooking. Among democrats, FDR and Kennedy stand out. B. Clinton is good, but he has no sense of time. He likes the sound of his own voice too much.

We have time to find someone.

Didn't take too long to dig up some unpleasant facts on Oprah. Apparently knew about one of the serial harassers and not much on science by having kooks on her programs that were nothing more than snake oil salesmen.

I think Howard Dean is right. It should be someone young.

Who knows? We could very well wind up with a President Pelosi.
