"Yeow!!! Dow down 1000 points at this time."

Worst day ever I understand.

There is no Democrat around to clean up the mess this time.

I hope we aren't gonna have a big stinko recession.

We've had three 100+ month long runs in which the economy grew constantly since WWII.

All were under Democratic Party Presidents.

Two ended shortly after a Republican took office.

We're on the third. Will Trump break the "curse"? Of course not!

Gonna be YUGE!

I've been wondering when that would happen.

I don't see any reason for the current downturn. I hope it is short. I expect the economy to nosedive shortly before 2020.

Oh, the market leads the economy by about six months. This is like the shot across the bows when the Navy used to tell a slave ship to heave to, and she didn't.

Notice gas prices are going up? They always have since Reagan, if you get a Republican in office. That price increase has already eaten up any benefit the economy would have gotten from that "targeted at the rich like a laser beam" tax cut.

It's a correction.

The Dow has had bigger drops percentage wise, but these are the first thousand point drops. Trump and the gang better stop playing games with the budget and threatened government shut down.

2008 all over again. And once again, I waited too long to move my money.
I'll let things stabilize; then I start moving money. Maybe 10% at a time, every week or two, so if there is another big swing I don't get eviscerated.

I think the Dow went up only because the republicans in Congress decided to behave like grownups and pass a budget. Like I said in an earlier post, I expect the plug gets pulled just before a Democrat enters the White House. Just like last time in 2008.

I was mistaken. We'll see how far temporary extends to permanent.
