"Seymour Hersch on Charlie Rose last nite"
|
Did anybody watch the Seymour Hersch interview? I watched some of it and the Bush blunders he outlined made my jaw drop. After 9-11, almost all the Muslim countries were offering to share intelligence to stop Al-Queda and one of the best sources was Syria. They had even managed to penetrate the organization and were willing to share info. What does Bush do? He threatens Syria as "you're next" after Iraq. And now no intelligence sharing thanks to that idiot. Even Qadafi sent people into Afghanistan to help with defeating the Taliban and Al-Queda.
According to Hersch, Bush has blundered so badly with his insistence on invading Iraq that most Muslim countries now regard the US govt. as anti-Muslim. So, no intelligence-sharing with Muslim allies, the loss of all the goodwill after 9-11, and increasing instability in the Mideast. Looks like Bush has hit the trifecta again.

A lot of the content can be found in his most recent New Yorker piece which I can't find a link to.

This regime has alienated everyone else in the world, not just Arabs and Muslims. If you think back to the period after 9/11 the Germans, French, Spanish all ARRESTED Al-Quaeda cell members, some probably in on the 9/11 plot, and refused to send them to the US because of our death penalty or they would be sent to Gitmo. They offered to share the intelligence with the US, but that's all.
And now, Iran is supposed to have arrested several senior Al-Quaeda members and are negotiating with Saudi Arabia to have them extradited to SA, and we are threatening Iran and trashing Saudi Arabia. The Saudis have had some major shoot-outs and arrests with terrorists, probably Al-Quaeda, and have offered to let the FBI & CIA interrogate them, but Bushco says, "No, we want them sent to the US."
After 9/11, we had the entire world's sympathy and cooperation in bring the terrorist's to justice, but the regime has squandered all that good will with it's imperialistic premptive strike and occupation of a foreign country.
And what has the regime accomplished in bringing the terrorists to justice?? Nothing whatsoever.

shit people think they are doing SOOOO much. Bullshit! Every arrest every capture has been accomplished by police work in foreign countries, not by Bushco 'intelligence'. Every last one.

....what about the Lackawanna Six? ...and Padilla? The Dear Leader said he was a real bad guy.
You never know what's going on behing the scenes, but Hersh certainly does imply that these people screw up everything the touch or they have a very unusual agenda.
